Appliance circuits and wiring in Salt Lake City

Dedicated circuits sized to the appliance nameplate, not to whatever was there before. Gas to electric conversions, induction cooktops, double ovens, dryers and built-in refrigeration handled cleanly.

We test and prove the fault before anything gets replaced, so you pay for the fix.

Permits, utility coordination and inspection sign-off taken care of for you.

Appliance Wiring

Circuits that hold up to the load

New appliances draw more than the ones they replace. An induction range on a 1970s 40A circuit is the kind of mismatch we correct every week.

Range & Cooktop Circuits

40A and 50A circuits for electric and induction ranges, including gas-to-electric conversions.

Dryer Circuits

Three-wire to four-wire conversions, new 30A circuits, and receptacle relocation for stacked laundry.

Wall Ovens & Warming Drawers

Hardwired connections and junction placement that satisfies both the installer and the inspector.

Dishwasher, Disposal & Microwave

Dedicated circuits and switched connections that keep the kitchen off one overloaded run.

Built-In Refrigeration

Dedicated circuits and receptacle placement for column and sub-zero style units that installers can actually reach.

Garage & Shop Appliances

Freezers, second refrigerators, welders and compressors given their own properly sized circuits.

How appliance wiring runs

Send us the model number. Nearly every scoping question is answered by the appliance spec sheet plus a look at your panel.

  1. 1
    Nameplate and panel check

We confirm voltage, amperage and connection type against your panel capacity and existing circuit.

  2. 2
    Placement plan

Junction box and receptacle location set so the appliance sits flush and the installer can make the connection.

  3. 3
    Install

New circuit run, terminations torqued to spec, breaker sized correctly, and old abandoned wiring removed.

  4. 4
    Test and verify

We power it up, verify draw under load, and confirm the appliance runs as designed before leaving.

Appliance Wiring FAQs

Appliance wiring questions

Can I convert from a gas range to electric or induction?+

Yes, and it is one of our most common requests. Most conversions need a new 40A or 50A 240V circuit run to the kitchen, plus a panel capacity check. Induction in particular does not tolerate an undersized circuit.

My dryer outlet has three prongs and my new dryer has four. What now?+

Modern dryers require a four-wire circuit with a separate ground. Adapters are not the answer. We run or convert the circuit properly, which usually means a new home run from the panel.

Does every appliance need its own circuit?+

Major appliances do: range, dryer, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, and built-in refrigeration. Sharing them is the most common cause of nuisance breaker trips in older Utah kitchens.

Do you install the appliance too?+

We make the electrical connection and verify operation. Setting, leveling, and gas or water connections belong to the appliance installer or plumber, and we coordinate with them on timing.

Is a permit required for a new appliance circuit?+

New circuits are permitted work in the jurisdictions we serve. Replacing a receptacle on an existing compliant circuit generally is not. We tell you which one your job is before we quote it.
